Challenging Poverty

Our positive impact on children’s lives depends upon our volunteers delivering high quality programs. We have developed multiple resources to help those building, planning, operating or evaluating programs, starting with our Challenging Poverty Manual, and extending to additional volunteer training resources, educational information to be included in layettes, and even sewing patterns.  Whether you are a chapter president or a potential volunteer, here are some materials to guide you:

The Red Wagon Award

Every two years at the National Convention, NCCS recognizes a chapter with an outstanding program with the Red Wagon Award. The winning chapter is given a $1,000 grant to help support further innovation and development of the program. The chapter benefits from the monetary award and national promotion of its award-winning program. The award is a great opportunity to obtain local press coverage and we encourage all chapters to apply for this award.
