“What has struck me most about the Christ Child Society since I joined in 1999, is the type of volunteer we attract. In Cleveland, I’ve met so many incredible, kind, generous women who are willing to give up their free time and talents to help children in the Cleveland area. And when I became involved on a National level, I found that the same type of individual makes up all our chapters across the country!”
Marybeth has been a member of the Christ Child Society of Cleveland since 1999. She chaired many of the chapter’s Red Wagon fundraisers as well as the annual Starlight Ball, and served on the Board as Chairman of the Immaculate Conception Library program, Recording Secretary, Organizational Vice President and, ultimately, Cleveland Chapter President. Marybeth continues to volunteer for the Cleveland chapter in multiple capacities, even while leading the national organization.
In 2016 Marybeth retired as Vice President of Apex Pest Control, a family business she and her brother ran together successfully for 20 years. Prior to her leadership of Apex, during the years she raised her children, Marybeth volunteered at St. Francis of Assisi parish and schools, serving as everything from room mother to PTO president. Also during this time, Marybeth, who received her Registered Nurse degree at St. Vincent Charity School of Nursing, cared for her ailing grandparents, taking advantage of her experience as a medical intensive care nurse at Hillcrest Hospital in the 1980’s and early 1990’s.
